The Singapore Cricket
Association The Karnataka State Cricket Association (formerly the Mysore Cricket
Association) came into being during the year 1933-34, the immediate cause being the
keenness of cricketers in Bangalore to have the M.C.C. team play a match in Bangalore.
Without an association, the staging of such a match would not have been possible. Thus,
the Association was formed, and was affiliated to the Board of Control for Cricket in
India in 1934 itself.
The Mysore State Cricket Association participated in the National Championship for
Ranji Trophy during the inaugural year of 1934, and had the distinction of playing in the
first ever match of the championship - against the Madras Cricket Association (now the
Tamil Nadu Cricket Association).
The Association made steady progress from 1934 to 1959 when the Silver Jubilee was
celebrated to coincide with the visit of the Australian team to Bangalore to play against
the combined Universities XI.
In the late sixties the Association acquired its own cricket ground and the stadium now
known as the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium came into being. Bangalore became a Test center, and
several memorable tests and ODI's have taken place here.

it is one of the best organized State Associations in the country. K.S.C.A. has been
playing a notable part in Indian Cricket, both in regard to organizational matters, and in
